How to Use the EDFS710 Mailing List (ListServ)

 Subscribing to the list

To become a member of the mailing list, EDFS710, you must first subscribe to the mailing list by sending a message to LISTSERV@listserv.cofc.edu.  LISTSERV is used anytime that you are asking the mail server to do something. It is the mail server that actually subscribes you to the list,  EDFS710. Below is an example of how you would subscribe to the EDFS710 mailing list.

 To: LISTSERV@listserv.cofc.edu
cc:
Attchmnt:
Subject:
----- Message Text -----
SUBSCRIBE EDFS710 yourFirstName yourLastName

Unsubscribing from the mailing list.

To: LISTSERV@listserv.cofc.edu
cc:
Attchmnt:
Subject:
----- Message Text -----
UNSUBSCRIBE EDFS710

Using the mailing list

Notice the address is different than for subscribing or unsubscribing

To: EDFS710@listserv.cofc.edu
cc:
Attchmnt:
Subject: Hey to everyone
----- Message Text -----

In the body of the message, you would type the message you want to send to the entire group.
